SUMMARY:PIPPIN
DESCRIPTION:Heir to the Frankish throne\, the young prince Pippin is in search of the secret to true happiness and fulfillment. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield\, the temptations of the flesh and the intrigues of political power (after disposing of his father\, King Charlemagne the Great). In the end\, though\, Pippin finds that happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavors\, but rather in the unextraordinary moments that happen every day. \nDirector\nSherri Eden Barber\nMusic Director\nMeg Zeroulis\nChoreographer\nAri Groover\nAssociate Director\nMark Van Hare\nAssociate Music Director\nAlex ‘Goldie’ Golden\nProduction Stage Manager\nE Sara Barnes\nAssistant Stage Manager\nClaudia Marino\nCostume Designer\nChristelle Matou\nAssociate Costume Designer\nRebecca Kanach\nProps Designer\nCarl Tallent\nFilming/Editing\nHeredia Vision\nPippin\nKatie Calabrese\nLeading Player\nKorina Deming\nLeading Player\nKyle Kowalewski\nLeading Player\nLevonn Owens\nCatherine\nJordan Auriemma\nCharles\nAnthony Kairouz\nFastrada\nLauren Eddings\nLewis\nTrevor Evans\nBerthe\nEllie Johnson\nTheo\nElliott Daniels\nPlayer\nMegan Burgess\nPlayer\nMaddison Darnell\nPlayer\nPaige Decena\nPlayer\nLauren DelGenio\nPlayer\nReagan Duchesne\nPlayer\nElita Ernsteen\nPlayer\nTaylor Fish\nPlayer\nNichelle Lewis\nPlayer\nMikayla Locke\nPlayer\nShelbe Overby\nPlayer\nNikki Rinaudo-Concessi

SUMMARY:NUNSENSE
DESCRIPTION:Nunsense begins when the Little Sisters of Hoboken discover that their cook\, Sister Julia\, Child of God\, has accidentally poisoned 52 of the sisters\, and they are in dire need of funds for the burials. The sisters decide that the best way to raise the money is to put on a variety show\, so they take over the school auditorium. Here we meet Reverend Mother Regina\, a former circus performer; Sister Mary Hubert\, the Mistress of Novices; a streetwise nun from Brooklyn named Sister Robert Anne; Sister Mary Leo\, a novice who is a wannabe ballerina; and the delightfully wacky Sister Mary Amnesia\, the nun who lost her memory when a crucifix fell on her head.\n\n\n\n\nDirector/Choreographer\nWill Pomerantz\nMusic Director\nJim Bassi\nProduction Stage Manager\nZach Jenkins\nAssistant Stage Manager\nBradley Costa\nCostume Coordinator\nMadeline Corcoran\nProps Designer\nCarl Tallent\nFilming/Editing\nHeredia Vision\nSister Mary Regina\nRhiannon Ling\nSister Mary Hubert\nAlexis Gilliard\nSister Robert Anne\nRegan Hicks\nSister Mary Amnesia\nKaroline Thomas\nSister Mary Leo\nMiranda Blood

Her older siblings are the hit recording artist “Memphis Queen” Carla Thomas and the highly respected keyboardist and producer\, Marvell Thomas.\n  \nEmbracing this remarkable musical legacy\, Vaneese carries forward the rich heritage of Memphis soul and R&B\, a music that has touched several generations and crossed many divides. At the same time she has combined all the influences of her background and experience – R & B\, gospel\, blues\, and jazz – to cultivate a soul-stirring style that’s all her own.\n  \nHighly regarded within the music industry\, Vaneese’s talents as a singer\, songwriter\, producer\, and actor have made her a sought-after solo performer as well as a first-call vocalist for projects by other top-name artists. She has worked with the renowned recording producer Phil Ramone and has sung with an astonishing array of internationally known performers including Luciano Pavarotti\, Sting\, Stevie Wonder\, Michael Jackson\, Celine Dion\, Eric Clapton\, Dr. John and numerous others.\n  \nVaneese’s vocal career has taken her to concerts and festivals around the world. She has sung with the Baltimore and Colorado Symphonies in “Too Hot to Handel” under the baton of Marin Alsop and at:\n  \n• several Pavarotti & Friends concerts in Modena\, Italy\n• the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland\n• the Michael Jackson & Friends concerts with Luther Vandross in Seoul\, Korea\, and Munich\,\nGermany\n• and soul music festivals in Porretta\, Narni\, and Perugia\, Italy.\n  \nGeffen Records released Vaneese’s first major recording in 1987. The self-titled album included the  Top Ten R & B hit “Let’s Talk it Over.” In 1999 Vaneese used her own Peaceful Waters Music label to release When My Back’s Against The Wall\, a gospel crossover hailed by Billboard Magazine as “a small label masterpiece that begs for attention from savvy majors.” Following a few years later was A Woman’s Love\, which combined R & B and silky\, smooth-jazz vocals. Vaneese then released Soul Sister Vol. One\, a collection of seminal soul classics. The CD\, and the live show Vaneese has created from it\, both pay tribute to some of the original soul sisters and honor the historical value of this irrepressible music.\n  \nVaneese’s current release Blues For My Father has taken the Blues world by storm! Ranking #1 for September 2014 in France \, #7 in the US for 2014 and garnering 2 BMA award nominations for 2014.\n  \nIn addition to concerts and recordings\, Vaneese has worked extensively in film and television. In addition\, she performed in Bare: The Musical (Ivy) at Patricia Playhouse & Theater Out of Bounds.\n  \nMelissa Manchester –\nLet’s hear it for the boys! More than 25 years after Melissa Manchester released Tribute\, her 1989 album that honored the great female singers who influenced her\, she turns the tables with The Fellas\, a radiant encomium to the men\, including Frank Sinatra\, Mel Tormé\, Tony Bennett and Dean Martin\, and the iconic songs they made famous.\n\n  \nSinging with a verve and emotional vulnerability that immediately captivates\, the Grammy winner inventively reimagines these be-loved standards. She turns “Chances Are” into a sly bossa nova and scats with seemingly impossible ease on “Love Is Just Around The Corner\,” while bringing an understated urgency to “Night and Day.”\n  \nMany of these tunes embedded themselves into Manchester’s musical DNA while she was growing up on New York City’s Up-per West Side. “These were the artists and songs that were on the radio as my family ate dinner\,” she says. “I am deeply famil-iar with this world.” Indeed\, Manchester brings a nuanced un-derstanding to the songs’ delicate phrasing and lyrical construc-tion that would baffle lesser singers.\n  \nManchester’s 21st album opens with a rambunctious\, horn-filled version of “Ain’t That A Kick In the Head” that swings exuberant-ly from the rafters. “I wanted to invite the audience in\, right away\, to what the album and song was going to feel like. When the whole band yells out ‘Beautiful!\,’ it’s so indicative of a bygone era when you’d hear a band chime in.”\n  \n\n“The band” is the 40-piece Blue Note Orchestra\, a collection of students\, alumni and faculty from Citrus College\, the suburban Los Angeles university where Manchester is an honorary artist in residence.\n\n  \nThe Fellas expands her relationship with The Blue Note Orches-tra and her co-producer/Citrus College Dean of Visual and Per-forming Arts Robert Slack\, which launched her 2015 album of originals\, You Gotta Love the Life. “I’ve been waiting to create the coda to Tribute with the men\, and this showed up as a mag-nificent gift when Bob Slack asked me if I had a project in my mind that could use their orchestra\,” says Manchester of the crowd-funded album. “It’s been so thrilling. The students are trained to be not only pro musicians\, but they are given real life lessons\,” she continues. “They show up ready to be part of an adventure. Their eyes are so bright. It’s serious fun.”\n  \nArrangers Peter Hume\, Terry Wollman\, Doug Walter and (Citrus alum) David Catalan created spellbinding orchestrations that pay homage to the originals\, while crafting wholly new works of art. For example\, Hume’s work on “Night and Day” spans Sinatra’s many different interpretations of the Cole Porter classic\, from the quiet hush of an early rendition to a swinging 1957 take. “We cover decades in that one arrangement\,” Manchester says.\n  \nThough Manchester only met a few of the men she pays homage to (both Mathis and Tormé recorded songs penned by Manchester)\, she didn’t need to know them personally to admire them. “I’ve loved these people from afar\, which is the best way be-cause all you are adoring is their art\,” she says. “I just wanted to send them this love letter.”\n  \nPrimarily a solo album\, Manchester did recruit one very special fella to join her on The Fellas: Barry Manilow duets with Man-chester on a jubilant “For Me and My Gal\,” a tribute to Gene Kelly and Judy Garland\, who performed the 1942 movie’s title track. “Silver screen musicals could have their own album by me\,” Manchester says. “So much of my life always goes back to Judy Garland. She’s always with me and with Barry.” Manilow and Manchester met 40 years ago when they were young jingle singers trying to break into show business. In fact\, Manilow was responsible for introducing Manchester to Bette Midler\, which led to Manchester’s stint as a founding member of Midler’s back-ing singers and dancers\, the Harlettes.\n\nManchester brings her own experience and truth to each song and\, though tackling the music of her heroes could be daunting\, she was fearless. “A great song is a great song\,” she says.\n\n  \n“These fellas captured a moment in time. What I bring is not a literal homage to what they’ve done\, it’s my female energy and appreciation of their male energy. It’s like when I sang\, ‘Over the Rainbow.’ How are you going to fill Judy Garland’s shoes? You’re not. You pray for that space where you take your courage and bravery and walk in your own shoes.”\n  \nThe song that resonates most with Manchester is “Smile\,” written by Charlie Chaplin. She unerringly pays homage to Nat “King” Cole’s heartbreaking interpretation. “The longevity of the song is undeniable\, the poignancy of the message is so touching\,” she says. “As a performer\, a woman\, a human being\, you’re so frequently on the stage and people don’t know what’s going on in your life\, yet you smile and keep going.”\n\nLike many of the men she salutes on The Fellas\, Manchester’s career is remarkable not only for its longevity and accomplishments\, but for its versatility.\n\n  \nFollowing her time as a Harlette\, Manchester’s tremendously successful solo career brought her critical and commercial acclaim. The “Midnight Blue” singer received her first Grammy nomination for Best Pop Female Vocal Performance in 1979 for the Peter Allen/Carole Bayer Sager-penned “Don’t Cry Out Loud\,” winning the Grammy in that category four years later for “You Should Hear How She Talks About You.” Manchester has also had her songs recorded by Barbra Streisand\, Roberta Flack\, Dusty Springfield\, Alison Krauss\, Kenny Loggins and many others. Two songs she performed\, “Through The Eyes Of Love” and “The Promise\,” were nominated for Oscars in the same year. She has written tunes for several other films including The Great Mouse Detective\, Lady and the Tramp II\, Dirty Girl\, and Tyler Perry’s For Colored Girls.\nShe has appeared on both the large (For The Boys) and small (Blossom) screen\, as well as the stage\, and she co-created (with lyricist Sharon Vaughn and playwright Rupert Holmes) the musical theatre sensation Sweet Potato Queens\, which premiered at TUTS in Houston in 2016.\n\nWith The Fellas\, Manchester completes a journey that began more than a quarter century ago\, while also creating an exciting new chapter for her and her fans.\n\n  \n\nAnd she’s already thinking ahead to a possible second volume. “With all of these singers\, for every song I chose\, there were 20 more I could have chosen\,” she says. “There’s so much music to mine. I’m happy to be my fans’ guide.”Featuring: Peggy Sue Johnson\, Susan Holder \n\nPeggy Sue Johnson is an actor\, singer\, and dancer from Southern California. SUMMARY:The History of American Rock & Roll
DESCRIPTION:Charlie Thomas’ Drifters\nROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAMER (1988) Charlie Thomas was born in Lynchburg\, Virginia on April 7\, 1937. He was a member of a group known as The Five Crowns in 1958 along with Ben Earl Nelson (later known as Ben E. King)\, who were being managed by Lover Patterson. \nWhile The Five Crowns met with little commercial success\, they enjoyed local popularity and that is why they were on the bill at the Apollo Theater in New York City in 1958 when George Treadwell fired his famous group\, The Drifters. It was Charlie Thomas’ voice that Treadwell heard and hastily recruited the Crowns to become the new Drifters. \nLover Patterson once said that Charlie Thomas’ voice was one that the world would enjoy forever\, and he was right! \nThe new Drifters’ first release in 1959 was a song called “There Goes My Baby.” This was the beginning of what is generally acknowledged as the Golden Years of the Drifters. \nIn 1988\, Charlie Thomas\, along with other original members Doc Green\, Ben E. King and Elsbery Hobbs were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. The group was known for their famous hits such as: \n\nSave The Last Dance For Me\nUp On The Roof\nThis Magic Moment\nUnder The Boardwalk\nSweets For My Sweet\nSaturday Night At The Movies\nOn Broadway\nThere Goes My Baby\nDance With Me\n\n  \nThe Coasters\nThe Coasters are an American rhythm and blues/rock and roll vocal group that had a string of hits in the late 1950s. Beginning with “Searchin'” and “Young Blood\,” their most memorable songs were written by the songwriting and producing team of Leiber and Stoller. Although the Coasters originated outside of mainstream doo wop\, their records were so frequently imitated that they became an important part of the doo wop legacy through the 1960s. \nThe Coasters are a doo-wop group that started in October 1955. The original members of the Coasters were Carl Gardner\, Billy Guy\, Bobby Nunn\, Leon Hughes (who was replaced by Young Jessie on a couple of their early Los Angeles recordings)\, and guitarist Adolph Jacobs. Jacobs left the group in 1959. The Coasters were formed out of the group The Robins\, a Los Angeles-based rhythm and blues group\, which included Carl Gardner and Bobby Nunn. \nThe songwriting team Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller had started Spark Records\, and in 1955 produced “Smokey Joe’s Cafe” for The Robins (their 5th single with Leiber-Stoller). The record was popular enough that Atlantic Records offered Leiber and Stoller an independent production contract to produce The Robins for the Atlantic label. Only two of The Robins—Gardner and Nunn—were willing to make the move to Atlantic\, recording their first songs in the same studio as The Robins had done (Master Recorders). In late 1957\, the group moved to New York and replaced Nunn and Hughes with Cornell Gunter and Will “Dub” Jones. The new quartet was from then on stationed in New York (although all had Los Angeles roots). \nThe Coasters’ association with Leiber and Stoller was an immediate success. Together\, they created a string of good-humored “storytelling” hits that are some of the most entertaining from the original era of rock and roll. Their first single\, “Down in Mexico\,” was an R&B hit in 1956 and appears (in a re-recording from 1970—still with Gardner singing the lead) on the soundtrack of Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof. The following year\, The Coasters crossed over to the national charts in a big way with the double-sided “Young Blood”/”Searchin’.” “Searchin'” was the group’s first U.S. Top 10 hit\, and topped the R&B charts for 13 weeks\, becoming the biggest R&B single of 1957 (all these were recorded in Los Angeles). \n“Yakety Yak” (recorded in New York)\, featuring King Curtis on tenor saxophone\, included the famous lineup of Gardner\, Guy\, Jones\, and Gunter\, became the act’s only national #1 single\, and also topped the R&B chart. The next single\, “Charlie Brown\,” reached #2 on both charts. This was followed by “Along Came Jones\,” “Poison Ivy” (#1 for a month on the R&B chart)\, and “Little Egypt (Ying-Yang).” \n  \nThe Chiclettes\nFrom The Crystals to The Supremes to Donna Summer — Sarah\, Deanna\, and Susan will keep you on your feet showcasing the female artists that dominated the music scene for the last five decades. \nThe Chiclettes demonstrate their diversity with a wide array of music\, performing favorites from the ‘50s\, ‘60s\, ‘70s\, and beyond which are reminders of the fantastic female contributions these artists made to the pop music scene through the years. Their high-energy appeal is universal; young and the young-at-heart appreciate them alike. \nOver the years\, various incarnations of The Chiclettes have shared the stage with such performers as The Drifters\, Johnny Maestro & the Brooklyn Bridge\, Lou Christie\, Southside Johnny\, Little Anthony and The Imperials\, The Crystals\, and the list goes on. They have also appeared on NBC TV\, CBS FM’s Doo Wop Shop with Don K. Reed\, and can be seen on the “Doo Wop 52” special produced by WQED TV and aired nationwide. \nTheir harmony talents have been used to back up other artists such as Lou Christie\, Mel Carter\, Jimmy Clanton\, Ron Dante & more. \nThe Chiclettes have appeared in theatres\, concert halls\, casinos\, & clubs all over the tri-state area & beyond\, including venues in Atlantic City\, NJ\, Wildwood\, NJ\, Manhattan and municipalities on Long Island\, NY\, upstate NY\, Connecticut & Delaware. \nThey also performed on the Time/Life© sponsored Malt Shop Memories Cruise in 2013\, 2017\, 2018\, and 2019. \nThey continue the tradition of being an exciting\, unique addition to any performing arts calendar. Wherever they perform\, the combination of talent\, memories\, and high-energy fun always leaves a lasting impression! \n  \nBobby Brooks Wilson\nBobby Brooks Wilson is the son of legendary R&B/Soul singer Jackie Wilson. Bobby has the same amazing traits and talents of his father\, that many say Jackie Wilson’s legacy lives on through him. His adoring fans have dubbed him as “Mr. Entertainment” from his natural ability to entertain and bring crowds to life. \nBobby is a three-time Grammy-balloted artist with his latest CD\, “It’s About Time\,” and four Top 10 hits that peaked at #10 on the Adult Contemporary Charts. \nBobby’s musical journey began after leaving the US Navy and residing in Honolulu\, Hawaii. He was invited to join the world-famous Doo Wop Group “The Love Notes” by Papa Mars (Peter Hernandez Sr.) and son Little Bruno\, known as “The World’s Youngest Elvis Impersonator\,” who is now pop star Bruno Mars. \nWhile Bobby was emerging as a talented entertainer\, he came across many opportunities to recreate the persona of Jackie Wilson because of his uncanny resemblance\, voice\, and moves that were almost identical to Jackie. It was during this time in his career he learned where his musical skills originated; he really was Jackie Wilson’s biological son! \nSince that time\, Bobby has emerged into a Global Entertainer with his own shows including: “Jackie Wilson\, The Legacy Continues\,” “Bobby Brooks Wilson\, The Motown Years\,” and his latest show “Bobby Brooks Wilson’s Red Tie Tour\,” due to the success of his latest CD recorded by Plateau Music. Bobby has opened for his friend Bruno Mars\, and now stars in clubs\, theaters\, casinos\, and cruise ships around the world. \nHis latest radio releases\, “I Can’t Love You Anymore” and “I Get The Sweetest Feeling” are currently airing in the UK and soaring up the charts. Because of popular demand\, has scheduled an upcoming tour in the UK. Another single is set to release in South Africa beginning June 1st. He is currently recording a new CD that will be released world-wide this fall with a special attachment which he will disclose in the very near future. \nMany watch with anticipation as Bobby Brooks Wilson’s success continues to soar through the “Grace of God\,” he says\, as the singer\, the entertainer\, and the artist!

SUMMARY:The Tempest
DESCRIPTION:Actors From The London Stage Presents: The Tempest \nThe Tempest is a play about magic\, betrayal\, love and forgiveness. It is set on an island somewhere near Italy where Prospero\, the one-time Duke of Milan\, and his beautiful daughter\, Miranda\, live with a sprite called Ariel and a strange wildman called Caliban. \nACTORS FROM THE LONDON STAGE \nFounded in 1975\, Actors From The London Stage (AFTLS) is one of the oldest touring Shakespeare theatre companies in the world. Housed and workshopped in the UK and based in the United States at Shakespeare at Notre Dame\, this intensive residency program is truly one of a kind. \nThe company presents residencies at approximately 16-18 universities per year. These one-week visits present students and faculty with an opportunity to experience a cross-disciplinary\, in-depth\, and dynamic set of workshops\, further enhanced by performances of one of Shakespeare’s great masterpieces. AFTLS has been in residence at numerous prestigious institutions including the University of Texas-Austin\, Wellesley College\, Dartmouth College\, Stanford University\, Emory University\, and the U.S. Naval Academy. \nOriginally conceived and developed at the University of California-Santa Barbara by Professor Homer Swander (and co-founded by the renowned British actor Sir Patrick Stewart)\, each weeklong residency is truly an actor driven tour-de-force. Coming from such prestigious companies as the Royal Shakespeare Company\, the Royal National Theatre of Great Britain\, and Shakespeare’s Globe\, AFTLS actors are uniquely focused on student engagement across the academic spectrum\, as well as the creation of a collaborative learning environment in which to experience Shakespeare’s texts and universal themes. Be it in classroom workshops\, onstage demonstrations and performances\, text readings\, or informal meetings with students\, AFTLS actors are committed to teaching and being entirely accessible to students during each campus visit. \nThe vibrant hands-on nature of the program provides an extraordinary opportunity to engage faculty and students far beyond the confines of the English and Theatre departments. Whether students are familiar with or new to the body of work\, Actors From The London Stage provides an inclusive\, interactive gateway to experiencing the richness of Shakespeare’s writing.

SUMMARY:My Sinatra
DESCRIPTION:CARY HOFFMAN finally achieved his dream with his autobiographical one-man hit musical\, My Sinatra\, about his Sinatra obsession\, which ran Off-Broadway for two years. Hoffman has performed the music of Frank Sinatra for the past fifteen years in over 80 performing arts centers and 20 major symphonies around the world\, including a performance for the President of Singapore and the President of Mexico. He is acknowledged as America’s premier Sinatra interpreter (“Dead On…” – The New York Times\, “Mesmerizing!” – Los Angeles Times\, “The Best Sinatra Singer ever!” – Jackie Mason). His compelling blend of vocal performance\, along with his true stories from a lonely teen singing along to Sinatra in his bedroom\, to performing with some of the best symphonies\, make it unlike any other Sinatra tribute show. This led to a National PBS television special which has aired in over 80 cities around the country and was viewed by more than a million people (his is the only Sinatra television special starring somebody other than Frank Sinatra himself). \n“People may come because they want to hear the music of Frank Sinatra but they leave loving Cary Hoffman! My Sinatra is a unique combination of heartfelt and funny\, and the arresting life of Hoffman is juxtaposed with relatively unknown facts about Sinatra and the songs to which several generations fell in love.” – HuffPost

SUMMARY:Celtic Christmas
DESCRIPTION:Now in its 23rd successive year\, Tomaseen Foley’s A Celtic Christmas hits the road immediately after Thanksgiving. This year’s show features some of the finest and most authentic exponents of the Celtic arts performing anywhere today\, on either side of the Atlantic. At its center is native Irish storyteller\, Tomaseen Foley. \nA Celtic Christmas is a re-creation of a night before Christmas in the West of Ireland in the 1940s\, before the motorcar\, the television\, and the telephone. In the remote parish of Teampall an Ghleanáin–Tomáseen Foley’s birthplace–the neighbors gathered at each other’s farmhouses and brought with them their fiddles\, uilleann pipes\, flutes\, whistles\, and bodhráns for a night of traditional Irish music\, traditional carols\, traditional Irish dancing\, and\, of course\, storytelling. A Celtic Christmas brings to life just such a night – a wholesome\, cultural\, family feast directly from the rich table of communal life in the west of Ireland. \n“Long\, long before Riverdance\,” Tomáseen says\, “ordinary country people knocked sparks off the bare flagstone of their neighbor’s floor as they danced jigs\, reels\, and hornpipes with their hob-nailed boots\, and the rafter rang with the fiery music of the fiddle and the pipes.” \nThe show’s Music Director is Grammy Award winner William Coulter – an internationally recognized master of the steel-string guitar. He has been performing and recording traditional Celtic and American folk music for more than 20 years. \nTomáseen Foley is a master of the Irish narrative\, and a keeper of the flame for a priceless piece of Irish culture.

SUMMARY:An Evening with Judy Collins
DESCRIPTION:Judy Collins accompanied by the South Shore Symphony will start your Holiday Season off right with this program celebrating Christmas. \nJudy Collins has inspired audiences with sublime vocals\, boldly vulnerable songwriting\, personal life triumphs\, and a firm commitment to social activism. In the 1960s\, she evoked both the idealism and steely determination of a generation united against social and environmental injustices. Five decades later\, her luminescent presence shines brightly as new generations bask in the glow of her iconic 50-album body of work\, and heed inspiration from her spiritual discipline to thrive in the music industry for half a century. \nThe award-winning singer-songwriter is esteemed for her imaginative interpretations of traditional and contemporary folk standards and her own poetically poignant original compositions. Her stunning rendition of Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now” from her landmark 1967 album\, Wildflowers\, has been entered into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Judy’s dreamy and sweetly intimate version of “Send in the Clowns\,” a ballad written by Stephen Sondheim for the Broadway musical A Little Night Music\, won “Song of the Year” at the 1975 Grammy Awards. She’s garnered several top-ten hits and gold- and platinum-selling albums. Recently\, contemporary and classic artists such as Rufus Wainwright\, Shawn Colvin\, Dolly Parton\, Joan Baez\, and Leonard Cohen honored her legacy with the album Born to the Breed: A Tribute to Judy Collins. \nJudy began her impressive music career at age 13 as a piano prodigy\, dazzling audiences by performing Mozart’s “Concerto for Two Pianos.” But eventually\, the hard luck tales and rugged sensitivity of folk revival music by artists such as Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger seduced her away from a life as a concert pianist. Her path pointed to a lifelong love affair with the guitar and pursuit of emotional truth in lyrics. The focus and regimented practice of classical music\, however\, would be a source of strength to her inner core as she navigated the highs and lows of the music business. \nIn 1961\, she released her masterful debut\, A Maid of Constant Sorrow\, which featured interpretative works of social poets of the time such as Bob Dylan\, Phil Ochs\, and Tom Paxton. This began a wonderfully fertile thirty-five-year creative relationship with Jac Holzman and Elektra Records. Around this time\, Judy became a tastemaker within the thriving Greenwich Village folk community and brought other singer-songwriters to a wider audience\, including poet/musician Leonard Cohen\, and musicians Joni Mitchell and Randy Newman. Throughout the ‘60s\, ‘70s\, ‘80s\, ‘90s\, and up to the present\, she has remained a vital artist\, enriching her catalog with critically-acclaimed albums while balancing a robust touring schedule. \nProlific as ever\, Judy recorded a DVD special Judy Collins: A Love Letter to Stephen Sondheim\, in her hometown of Denver\, CO. Along with the Greely Philharmonic Orchestra\, Judy dazzled the audience with Sondheim’s beautiful songs and her lovely\, radiant voice. A DVD and CD companion will be released in early 2017. Judy also released a collaborative album in June 2016\, Silver Skies Blue\, with writing partner Ari Hest. Silver Skies Blue has been Grammy nominated for Best Folk Album in 2017; this is the first Grammy nomination for Collins in over 40 years. \nOn September 18\, 2015\, Judy released Strangers Again. She invited a cast of icons and young talents to sing with her on this fresh collection\, from Willie Nelson\, Jackson Browne and Jeff Bridges to Glen Hansard\, Ari Hest and Bhi Bhiman. Judy delicately soars over a revitalized “Send in the Clowns” and breathes new life into “Hallelujah.” She puts her indelible touch on songs by Leonard Bernstein\, Randy Newman\, James Taylor\, and more. \nIn 2012\, she released the CD/DVD album Judy Collins Live at The Metropolitan Museum of Art\, which aired on PBS. This special television program was nominated for a New York Emmy and won a Bronze Medal at the 2013 New York Festival International Television & Film Awards. Based on its success\, in 2014 she filmed another spectacular show in Ireland at Dromoland Castle: Live in Ireland was released in 2014. This program also won a Bronze Medal at the 2014 New York Festival International Television & Film Awards\, and the program was broadcast on PBS in 2014 and 2015. \nJudy has also authored several books\, including the powerful and inspiring Sanity & Grace and her extraordinary memoir\, Sweet Judy Blue Eyes: My Life in Music. For her most recent title released in 2017\, Cravings\, she provides a no-holds barred account of her harrowing struggle with compulsive overeating\, and the journey that led her to a solution. Alternating between chapters on her life and those of the many diet gurus she has encountered along the way (Atkins\, Jean Nidtech of Weight Watchers\, and Andrew Weil\, to name a few)\, Cravings is the culmination of Judy’s genuine desire to share what she’s learned—so that no one has follow her heart-rending path to recovery. \nIn addition\, she remains a social activist\, representing UNICEF and numerous other causes. She is the director (along with Jill Godmillow) of Portrait of a Woman\, an Academy Award-nominated film about Antonia Brico\, the first woman to conduct major symphonies around the world\, and Judy’s classical piano teacher when she was young. \nJudy Collins\, now 77\, is as creatively vigorous as ever\, writing\, touring worldwide\, and nurturing fresh talent. She is a modern-day Renaissance woman who is also an accomplished painter\, filmmaker\, record label head\, musical mentor\, and an in-demand keynote speaker for mental health and suicide prevention. She continues to create music of hope and healing that lights up the world and speaks to the heart. \n*Limited number of VIP Meet and Greet tickets available — CLICK HERE *

SUMMARY:Jay and the Americans
DESCRIPTION:“ONLY IN AMERICA” – In one of the greatest turnabouts in Rock and Roll history\, the group JAY AND THE AMERICANS\, started by four teenage boys in Sandy Yaguda’s Brooklyn basement 40 years ago\, have bought back their rightful name in federal court\, restoring the name to its rightful owners. Very few bands have ever reached the musical heights of JAY AND THE AMERICANS. From 1962- 1971\, this group charted an unprecedented twelve top 10 records. With three original band members\, Sandy Yaguda (aka Deane – founding member)\, Howie Kirschenbaum (aka Kane – original member)\, and Marty Kupersmith (aka Sanders – original member)\, plus the addition of “Jay” Reincke — the third Jay and probably the best yet — they have recreated the authentic sound of all of their great hits that everyone remembers. \nJAY AND THE AMERICANS’ first record was “TONIGHT” (from the Broadway musical WEST SIDE STORY)\, and their breakout hit song was “SHE CRIED.” JAY AND THE AMERICANS’ next chart hit was “ONLY IN AMERICA\,” followed by top ten hits “COME A LITTLE BIT CLOSER” and later “THIS MAGIC MOMENT.” \nWhere were you when you first heard “CARA MIA”? JAY AND THE AMERICANS pays tribute to the late ROY ORBISON with “CRYING\,” and no other band in history has sold more copies of the song “SOME ENCHANTED EVENING” than JAY AND THE AMERICANS!!! \nNEIL DIAMOND’s first hit song released\, “SUNDAY AND ME\,” was recorded by none other than JAY AND THE AMERICANS\, who have toured with such legendary artists as ROY ORBISON\, THE BEATLES\, and THE ROLLING STONES. \nJAY AND THE AMERICANS were a major force in starting the rock and roll revival with their album “WAX MUSEUM\,” where they paid tribute to many great rock and roll artists with their versions of such great songs as “HUSHABYE\,” “WALKIN’ IN THE RAIN\,” and a song that reached the top ten charts with “THIS MAGIC MOMENT.” You will hear all of these songs\, which are featured in the new JAY AND THE AMERICANS show. \nIn 2002\, JAY AND THE AMERICANS were inducted into the VOCAL GROUP HALL OF FAME\, placing them among the greatest vocal groups in rock and roll history.

SUMMARY:Linda Eder – “If You See Me”
DESCRIPTION:Showcasing one of the greatest voices of our time\, Linda Eder’s diverse repertoire spans Broadway\, Standards\, Pop\, Country\, and Jazz. When she performs “live” in concert\, it is amazing to experience the ease with which she moves back and forth from one genre to another\, as if she were gifted with the vocal ability to perform each genre as well as all the others. \nBorn in Tucson\, Arizona and raised in Brainerd\, Minnesota\, Eder began her career right out of high school singing all around her home state\, and she eventually landed a gig at Harrah’s Casino in Atlantic City\, New Jersey. But it was her appearance on the 1987 season of “Star Search\,” during which she won for an unprecedented 12 straight weeks\, which attracted the attention of audiences and record companies alike. \nEder launched her recording career in 1991 with her self-titled debut album and soon established a vital niche as America’s most popular and acclaimed new interpreter of the Pop\, Standard\, and Theatrical genres. She released two more solo albums before starring in the Broadway production of JEKYLL & HYDE beginning on April 28\, 1997. As the tragic character “Lucy” in this new musical\, Eder blew the roof off New York City’s Plymouth Theatre eight times a week as she belted out her signature songs “Someone Like You” and “A New Life.” Her Broadway debut\, for which she was rewarded with a Drama Desk nomination\, sent her already rapidly rising star blazing across the sky\, securing her a spot as one of America’s most beloved singers and dynamic “live” performers. Stephen Holden of The New York Times wrote\, “What do we mean when we use the word perfection? The question arises every time I watch the pop singer Linda Eder….” \nAfter leaving Broadway\, Eder’s recording career continued “full steam ahead” with her discography to date being comprised of 18 solo recordings and numerous musical recordings. She focused on mostly Broadway\, Standard\, and Pop music for many years\, which highlighted her abundant vocal gifts as well as her skill for delivering dramatic\, emotionally resonant interpretations of mostly familiar songs while making them her own. Her highly successful first Christmas album\, CHRISTMAS STAYS THE SAME\, is a perfect example of the way she is able to transform and interpret best-loved Christmas music and make it her own without compromising the original. \nIn 2008\, Eder stepped outside the box and her familiar “wheelhouse” to record THE OTHER SIDE OF ME\, a Country Pop blend of contemporary music\, which included a song written by Linda herself. And\, in June 2010\, she and Clay Aiken covered Roy Orbison’s “Crying” as a duet on Aiken’s album\, TRIED & TRUE. \nIn 2013\, Linda established her own record company under the name Tressamail\, Inc.\, and in that same year she released her first recording on that newly-established label\, the highly-acclaimed CHRISTMAS WHERE YOU ARE. This CD features 12 tracks – six selected by her fans via social media and two originals from Eder herself. It also featured a unique twist on the classic\, “Baby\, It’s Cold Outside\,” which Linda rewrote and recorded with her teenage son\, Jake. It was to represent a classic mother-son debate over going outside to play in a snow storm. \nEder has released two additional recordings on her own record label. In 2014\, she released her first ever “live” CD\, LINDALIVE\, which was recorded in Saratoga\, New York before a wildly enthusiastic crowd. In November\, 2015\, she released RETRO VOLUME 1. This recording features 14 tracks written by Frank Wildhorn\, Jack Murphy\, Jason Howland\, Leslie Bricusse\, Nan Knighton\, Baird Jarman\, and Maury Yeston. It is filled with the kind of lush\, sweeping Broadway-esque melodies that first introduced Linda’s voice to her many fans. \nIn 2018\, Linda recorded her 17th solo album\, a Broadway/Standards CD entitled IF YOU SEE ME\, with music for the title track written by her son\, Jake Wildhorn\, and lyrics written by Linda herself. She has also put out her first “behind the scenes” DVD entitled THE OTHER SIDE compiled from personal moments at work and at home over a three-year period and culminating with the making of her new CD (IF YOU SEE ME). \nShe has appeared on television numerous times. TrailMIX\, her prime-time Animal Planet special about singers with a passion for horses\, was a natural extension of her love for animals and featured Linda interviewing fellow recording artists and performers Sheryl Crow\, Mary Chapin Carpenter\, Irish tenor Ronan Tynan\, Rob Thomas\, and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry. She has been featured on numerous PBS television concert specials including Clay Aiken’s Tried & True\, Hallelujah Broadway\, Linda Eder: The PBS Concert\, Best of Broadway: The Leading Ladies\, Best of Broadway: The Love Songs\, Jim Brickman Plays The Disney Songbook\, and more. Her 2001 Holiday Concert\, Christmas Stays the Same\, was broadcast on Bravo TV and continues to be a popular-selling DVD. \nThe concert stage remains the mainstay of Eder’s career. She has performed for sold-out crowds in venues across the country and throughout Europe. She has performed at many prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall\, Kennedy Center\, The Palace Theatre\, Radio City Music Hall\, Wolftrap\, New York City’s Town Hall\, Davies Hall\, among many others. Always touring in great company\, her collaborators have included the late Oscar-winning composer and pianist Marvin Hamlisch\, Emmy and Grammy winner Michael Feinstein\, and conductor of the Boston Pops Keith Lockhart. Eder is happiest on stage singing for her audiences and spreading the joy she exudes. \nhttps://lindaeder.com

SUMMARY:Joe Piscopo. Live.
DESCRIPTION:Television\, film\, theater\, nightclubs—they’re all fields in which Joe Piscopo has won the acclaim and affection of millions. For over 25 years\, Joe has proven to be one of show business’ brightest lights. After stints as a disc jockey and dinner-theater performer\, Joe turned to comedy. In 1980\, he was chosen to join a newly-formed ensemble charged with one of the most difficult tasks in TV history—replacing the original cast of Saturday Night Live. \nBy the time he left the show in 1985\, Joe had left his mark on the program\, and the nation\, thanks to his wide range of hilarious original characters and celebrity impersonations\, from The Sports Guy and Doug Whiner to David Letterman and\, of course\, Frank Sinatra\, who repeatedly endorsed Joe’s portrayal of him\, referring to Joe as “The Vice-Chairman of the Board.” \nHis work on SNL naturally led to Hollywood\, and starring roles in such smash hits as Wise Guys (with Danny DeVito) and Johnny Dangerously (with Michael Keaton). Other film credits include Dead Heat\, Sidekicks with Chuck Norris\, and a dramatic\, critically-acclaimed performance in Jonathan Parker’s Bartleby. Joe recently had the lead role of Jack Cosmo in the musical comedy How Sweet It Is with Paul Sorvino. \nLive performances have always been an important part of Joe’s career. He has long been one of America’s most popular comedy concert attractions\, filling arenas and casino showrooms from coast to coast and in Canada (including the prestigious Montreal Jazz Festival!). Joe tours with his own original Big Band tribute to Frank Sinatra\, as well as his multimedia comedy show. \nJoe has also won acclaim for his dramatic guest-starring roles on the NBC drama\, Law and Order. You might have also seen Joe as a guest on The FOX News Channel\, or co-hosting the Columbus Day Parade each year in NYC with Maria Bartiromo or on The Late Show with David Letterman. \nAlthough his unique talents are in constant demand from show business quarters\, Joe devotes an extraordinary amount of time to non-profit and charitable activities. His willingness to give back knows no limits. As the Spokesperson for Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey\, Joe is now lending his time and talents to fundraising\, public relations\, and advocacy on behalf of Boys & Girls Clubs. We are fortunate to have such commitment and passion from a man who keeps such a busy schedule. He truly is “Jersey’s Best.” \nFor his support of our US Military Forces\, Joe was honored to receive the Commendation Medal\, the highest civilian award from the state of New Jersey. \nMost recently\, Joe was among the 2013 class of inductees to the New Jersey Hall of Fame. You can hear Joe every day on the radio from 6am-10am\, leading the morning drive for Salem Media’s Flagship Station\, AM 970 “The Answer.” \nAlthough Joe’s impressive career and public service includes several major accomplishments\, he insists his proudest achievement of all is twice being named Father of the Year\, in 1983 by the National Father’s Day Council\, and in 1989 by the New Jersey Council of Children’s Rights. No matter how busy he may be\, Joe always makes sure he has enough time at his New Jersey home for his children\, Joey (an impressive talent\, in his own right!)\, Alexandra\, Michael\, Olivia and Charley-Rae.

SUMMARY:Special EFX All Stars
DESCRIPTION:Chieli Minucci’s seminal contemporary jazz super group Special EFX marks their 35th year of recording and touring in 2018 with the release of Deep As The Night\, their 21st studio recording\, and first celebrating their recent partnership with the Trippin ‘N’ Rhythm record label. Formed in 1982 as the brainchild of the duo of guitarist Chieli Minucci and percussionist George Jinda\, the combination of Chieli’s edgy & melodic driving style and George’s sense for temperament and rhythm struck a perfect balance\, the rise of a distinctive new and original sound that incorporated heavy percussive world elements fused with smart\, energetic\, playful and memorable guitar lines was formed. \nNow the leader and driving force behind the band\, Chieli has recorded and performed over the years with some of pop music’s biggest: Celine Dion\, Lou Reed\, Lionel Richie\, Jennifer Lopez\, Michael Bolton\, Marc Anthony\, as well as some of the jazz genre elites\, from Jeff Lorber to Kirk Whalum. Honored with a Grammy nomination for their Modern Manners CD\, 3 Emmy wins and 10 nominations for his compositional work on The Guiding Light\, his works in both film and television are well-recognized\, from writing and contributing music to Dancing With The Stars\, American Idol\, Good Morning America\, as well as the soundtracks for No Country for Old Men\, Bowfinger\, Legally Blonde\, and Panic. \n\nAmerican Idol star and vocalist Elliott Yamin had no vocal training and was 90 percent deaf in his right ear\, yet he vaulted to stardom after becoming a third-place finalist on American Idol. Elliot Yamin’s style is perfect for a smooth jazz festival — soulful with a jazz/R&B style. His debut album made it to #1 on the Billboard Charts. Yamin was featured in a nationwide American Idol Tour\, performing live in front of half a million fans. Elliott launched his recording career following his appearance on American Idol as one of the top three finalists. His highly-anticipated self-titled album\, Elliott Yamin\, debuted at Number 3 on the Billboard album chart and was the highest-debuting album by an independent artist in Sound Scan history. The self-titled disc achieved gold status in the U.S. and Japan\, yielding the platinum hit\, “Wait for You.” Hailed as one of the best male vocalists\, Elliott would go on to release three more albums. \n\nSaxophonist Eric Marienthal started his professional career in 1980 with famed New Orleans trumpeter Al Hirt. After returning to Los Angeles\, Eric became a member of the Chick Corea Elektric Band. He recorded six albums with that band\, and two of them won Grammy Awards. Six of the songs that Marienthal has recorded have made it to the top 10 of the National Contemporary Jazz Radio Charts\, and two have made it to No. 1. His Oasis album hit the top 5 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Chart. Shortly after that\, he was voted one of the year’s “Favorite Alto Sax Players” in Jazziz Magazine‘s Readers’ Poll. Marienthal has also written instructional books\, including Comprehensive Jazz Studies & Exercises\, The Ultimate Jazz Play Along\, and The Music of Eric Marienthal and instructional videos\, including Play Sax From Day One\, Modern Sax\, and Tricks of the Trade. \n\nKaren Briggs\, also known as the “Lady in Red\,” is an American violinist. Born in Manhattan to a family of musicians\, Briggs took up the violin at age 12 and committed to playing professionally at age 15. Briggs joined the Virginia Symphony while still in college\, but grew discontented with performing classical music and left the orchestra after four years. Since then\, she has performed predominantly in the jazz and contemporary instrumental genres. Best known for spending thirteen years on tour with contemporary instrumental musician Yanni\, Briggs received the “Lady in Red” moniker while featuring as a soloist on Yanni’s Live at the Acropolis tour. After parting with Yanni in 2004\, she toured with other groups including the short-lived jazz fusion group Vertú. Briggs has performed at such locations as Carnegie Hall and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts\, and has performed or collaborated with Dave Grusin\, Diana Ross\, the Wu Tang clan\, En Vogue\, and Chaka Khan. \n\nKeyboardist Lao Tizer is one of today’s rising stars of the world-fusion genre. Tizer’s original music has spurred comparisons of a modern twist to the 1970s and early 1980s heyday of jazz fusion\, when trailblazing ensembles like Return To Forever\, Mahavishnu Orchestra\, and Weather Report set the aesthetic standard. Lao’s music has a multi-genre\, multi-national appeal and his group\, The Lao Tizer Band\, has toured the USA and the world while being nominated “Jazz Group of the Year”! Their new 2018 CD/DVD combo release\, Songs From The Swinghouse\, has received acclaim across the industry while debuting near the top of the Billboard Jazz Album Chart! \n\nKnown for his solid & classic “no treble” approach to playing\, Jerry Brooks has been the longtime bassist for Special EFX for over 25 years. His credits include almost all the Special EFX and Chieli Minucci CDs\, as well as tops artists such as Alicia Keys\, Will Downing\, D’Angelo\, Lenny White\, Bobby Lyle\, Kim Waters\, Omar Hakim\, Chuck Loeb\, as well as Destiny’s Child. \n\nJoel Rosenblatt is a world-renowned drummer and producer. He has performed and recorded with such greats as: Spyro Gyra\, Special EFX\, Lee Ritenour\, Freddy Jackson\, Robben Ford\, Larry Carlton\, Eileen Ivers\, Michel Camilo\, Chick Corea\, Steps Ahead\, Paquito D’Rivera\, Manhattan Transfer\, Randy Brecker\, Ken Navarro\, Bill Evans\, and many more. Having toured the world many times over\, Joel brings an international musical awareness to the music. Currently the owner and main engineer at world class CliffSound Productions\, Joel is also actively involved in producing and cultivating new artists. \n\nLegend is an understatement. Sit with master-of-all-trades Mino Cinélu in any café and more likely than not\, a record will come on that he’s played on. Sting\, Miles Davis\, Weather Report\, Herbie Hancock\, Peter Gabriel\, Stevie Wonder\, Lou Reed\, Marcus Miller\, Bonnie Raitt\, Elton John\, Pat Metheny\, Taylor Dane\, Branford Marsalis\, and Cassandra Wilson are just a tiny selection of the international pop and jazz stars that Mino has worked with since the ‘80s. \nWhether playing percussion\, drums\, bass\, guitar\, keyboards\, or singing\, Mino brings his signature infectious personality full of warmth and joie de vivre\, coupled with decades of intense study in a wide variety of styles from around the world — from the streets of Paris\, to the Mississippi delta\, to the Caribbean island of Martinique. He’s equally comfortable being the consummate accompanist as well as being the center of attention\, and can command an extensive ensemble as well as performing his own breathtaking one-man-band show.
