SUMMARY:Shut Up & Sit Down\, a Q&A with the Sopranos\, and a Taste of NY
DESCRIPTION:“Shut Up & Sit Down\, a Q&A with the Sopranos\, and a Taste of NY” will be the 10th anniversary of the last episode gathering of the HBO’s hit Series “the Sopranos” for these hilarious “talk back” events. The multiple Emmy nominated and Oscar nominated actor Lorraine Bracco helped organize the event with her friend\, Michael Sullivan. They wanted to honor her good friend Mitchell Modell. “He has done so much for the community and never asks for anything in return\,” Bracco said\, “I felt it was time to honor Mitch for all the work he has done.” Crohn’s is an important organization for Mr. Modell because he has had family members directly affected by Crohn’s. Ms. Bracco said\, “This [event] will be the perfect way to honor him.” \nJoining Ms. Bracco will be cast members\, Tony Sirico “Paulie Walnuts Gulatieri”\, Steve Shirripa ”Bobby ‘Bacala’ Baccalieri”; Vincent Curatola “Johnny ‘Johnny Sack’ Sacramoni”; Johnny Ventimiglia”Artie Bucco”; and Dominic Chianese”Corrado ‘Uncle Junior’ Soprano.” With Master of Ceremonies Joey Kola and other guest comedians\, Long Island singer Eddie Sessa; the evening will be filled with fun\, laughter and food\, the Italian way. The evening will continue on the Great Lawn after the show that will include drink\, music and great food from local and New York City restaurants with sponsors including Susan and Marty Bevilacqua of Oceanville Masonry\, Molloy College\, Donna and Michael Sullivan\, and The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation pitching in to make this event a success. It is certain to be a fun and exciting evening. \nThe Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation is a national organization founded in 1967 and is the leading non-profit organization dedicated to finding cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis collectively known as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).  We know firsthand the crucial significance of supporting an organization such as Crohn’s and Colitis will help with their mission in finding a cure for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis\, as well as to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases. \n

Oh\, and he plays a mean ukulele. \nChris Parker\nDrums\nThe legendary Chris Parker is recognized worldwide as one of the most respected and successful drummers of all time. His discography and touring /performance resume is nothing less than astounding to say the least\, as he is the drummer not just for The Sixties Show but several music industry legends. Chris was Bob Dylan’s drummer\, prompting the prodigious Mr. Dylan to emphatically call Chris; “… one of the greats!” Many know Chris as the long time Saturday Night Live Band Drummer on NBC TV from ’86-92. Chris was also the drummer making records\, touring and performing with; Paul Simon\, James Brown\, Quincy Jones\, Ray Charles\, Miles Davis\, Eric Clapton\, Aretha Franklin\, Todd Rundgren\, Elvis Costello\, Burt Bacharach\, Judy Collins\, Peter Paul and Mary\, Cher\, Donald Fagan\, Paul Butterfield\, Boz Skaggs\, Bonnie Raitt\, Lionel Hampton\, David Sanborn\, The Brecker Bros\, Pat Matheney\, Don McLean\, Barry Manilow\, Jackie Lomax\, Laura Nero\, Ashford and Simpson\, Teddy Pendergrass\, Patti LaBelle\, Sinead O’Conner\, Gladys Night and the Pips\, \, Robert Palmer and not enough space on this page to list the rest! \nDennis Diken\nDrums\nDennis is a founding member and the drummer of The Smithereens\, the acclaimed and pioneering New Jersey power-pop band that have sold millions of records worldwide (known for their hits “Blood And Roses\,” “Only A Memory” and “A Girl Like You”). Diken also DJs on the renowned free-form WFMU-FM and fronts his solo songwriting/recording project Dennis Diken with Bell Sound. \nPeter Chiusano\nKeyboards/Orchestrations\nA Long Island native Peter taught himself to play piano in his childhood. As an adult he studied classical piano at Stony Brook University and continued his education studying jazz with Andy Laverne {Frank Sinatra\, Stan Getz\, Woody Herman\, Dizzy Gillespie\, Chick Corea\, Lionel Hampton\, Michael Brecker\, Elvin Jones\,} among others. His playing has been described as “True Rock & Roll” and as having a “distinct personality”. \nHaving often served as Musical Director for select area theaters including Long Island’s BroadHollow Theatre\, The Brewster Theatre Company and Musicals at Richter in Danbury\, CT. He has also performed and recorded for over 20 years as an in demand player for hire with such acts as the renown 17 piece swing band The Norm Hathaway Orchestra and numerous area Rock & Roll acts. \nPeter’s love and intricate understanding of 1960’s period music and arrangements combined with his great ear and meticulous attention to detail are some of the key ingredients that bring The Sixties Show’s sound to life. The Mellotrons and Moogs\, the Hammond B3\, Vox Continental and Farfisa organs\, the Hohner\, Rhodes and Wurlitzer electric pianos are all faithfully reproduced with state of the art gear and performed with the most accurate authenticity. His precise transcriptions of legendary 1960’s scores\, orchestrations and arrangements are always spot on and sound just like the original recordings. \nPeter also enjoys sharing his love of music with his many piano students. “They learn the masters. Bach\, Beethoven and The Beatles.” \nJohn Cardone\nBass\, Backing Vocals\nGrowing up in the sixties\, John was always drawn to music. Either playing drums on cardboard boxes\, or later when getting his first violin shaped bass to imitate Paul McCartney\, John had music in his head constantly and wanted to recreate it any way he could. \nHis musical influences span many genres of music. Chris Squire\, Paul McCartney\, Jaco Pastorius\, John Wetton\, John Entwistle\, Greg Lake\, Miraslov Vitos\, Stanley Clarke\, Ron Carter\, and James Jamerson all were the foundation of John’s musical development as a bassist. \nEarly in John’s musical career\, the British Invasion served as the launching pad for his melodic style of play thanks in part to bands like The Beatles\, Yes\, Emerson Lake and Palmer\, King Crimson\, The Who\, Genesis and Gentle Giant. Then in the 70’s and 80’s\, jazz fusion bands like Return to Forever and Weather Report added a yet another dimension to John’s playing style. All of these different styles were meticulously studied\, and all melded into a solid style of playing that can be melodic while still providing a solid back beat for the rhythm section. \nAside from playing in The Sixties Show\, John plays in several different projects to keep his musical appetite satisfied\, most notably with John Ford\, a founding member of the British Invasion rock group The Strawbs. John also plays with Americana singer song writer Mike Barry\, and Playback\, The Band.

DESCRIPTION:Music by RON ABEL\nLyrics by CHUCK STEFFAN\nBook by LISSA LEVIN\nDirected & Choreographed by Parker Esse\nMusical Direction By Aaron Gandy\nFeaturing Klea Blackhurst as Hazel\nHazel\, that irrepressible maid from the iconic Saturday Evening Post cartoon and sixties Emmy Award-winning television series\, is sweeping her way onto the stage in a doozy of a new musical. \nIt’s the 1960’s\, a time of great change for America\, but not all of the Baxter family is on board. What George Baxter finds not so funny about his wife joining the work force and his maid taking over his household and his life–is a laugh riot. “HAZEL\, A Musical Maid In America” asks the question: can a simple maid debone a turkey\, save a marriage\, uncover a matter of national security and lead a conga line? She can if she’s Hazel!
