As an adult he studied classical piano at Stony Brook University and continued his education studying jazz with Andy Laverne {Frank Sinatra\, Stan Getz\, Woody Herman\, Dizzy Gillespie\, Chick Corea\, Lionel Hampton\, Michael Brecker\, Elvin Jones\,} among others. His playing has been described as “True Rock & Roll” and as having a “distinct personality”. \nHaving often served as Musical Director for select area theaters including Long Island’s BroadHollow Theatre\, The Brewster Theatre Company and Musicals at Richter in Danbury\, CT. The Mellotrons and Moogs\, the Hammond B3\, Vox Continental and Farfisa organs\, the Hohner\, Rhodes and Wurlitzer electric pianos are all faithfully reproduced with state of the art gear and performed with the most accurate authenticity. His precise transcriptions of legendary 1960’s scores\, orchestrations and arrangements are always spot on and sound just like the original recordings. \nPeter also enjoys sharing his love of music with his many piano students. “They learn the masters. Bach\, Beethoven and The Beatles.” \nJohn Cardone\nBass\, Backing Vocals\nGrowing up in the sixties\, John was always drawn to music. Either playing drums on cardboard boxes\, or later when getting his first violin shaped bass to imitate Paul McCartney\, John had music in his head constantly and wanted to recreate it any way he could. \nHis musical influences span many genres of music. Chris Squire\, Paul McCartney\, Jaco Pastorius\, John Wetton\, John Entwistle\, Greg Lake\, Miraslov Vitos\, Stanley Clarke\, Ron Carter\, and James Jamerson all were the foundation of John’s musical development as a bassist. \nEarly in John’s musical career\, the British Invasion served as the launching pad for his melodic style of play thanks in part to bands like The Beatles\, Yes\, Emerson Lake and Palmer\, King Crimson\, The Who\, Genesis and Gentle Giant. Then in the 70’s and 80’s\, jazz fusion bands like Return to Forever and Weather Report added a yet another dimension to John’s playing style. All of these different styles were meticulously studied\, and all melded into a solid style of playing that can be melodic while still providing a solid back beat for the rhythm section. \nAside from playing in The Sixties Show\, John plays in several different projects to keep his musical appetite satisfied\, most notably with John Ford\, a founding member of the British Invasion rock group The Strawbs. John also plays with Americana singer song writer Mike Barry\, and Playback\, The Band.

SUMMARY:Hazel
DESCRIPTION:Music by RON ABEL\nLyrics by CHUCK STEFFAN\nBook by LISSA LEVIN\nDirected & Choreographed by Parker Esse\nMusical Direction By Aaron Gandy\nFeaturing Klea Blackhurst as Hazel\nHazel\, that irrepressible maid from the iconic Saturday Evening Post cartoon and sixties Emmy Award-winning television series\, is sweeping her way onto the stage in a doozy of a new musical. \nIt’s the 1960’s\, a time of great change for America\, but not all of the Baxter family is on board. What George Baxter finds not so funny about his wife joining the work force and his maid taking over his household and his life–is a laugh riot. “HAZEL\, A Musical Maid In America” asks the question: can a simple maid debone a turkey\, save a marriage\, uncover a matter of national security and lead a conga line? She can if she’s Hazel!

SUMMARY:American Classics
DESCRIPTION:Wen Qiang\, violin soloist\nScott Jackson Wiley\, Music Director and Conductor \nIt’s Election Week! To celebrate our most important and defining national tradition\, the South Shore Symphony presents a program of classic scores by two of our country’s most important composers\, Samuel Barber and Aaron Copland. ViolinistWen Qiang of the Metropolitan Opera is soloist in Barber’s eloquent Concerto for Violin. Rounding out this program of Americana are Barber’s bracing Essay N.1 for Orchestra and the Copland’s western inspired ballet score\, Billy the Kid. \nSamuel Barber – Essay n. 1 for Orchestra\nSamuel Barber – Concerto for Violin\nAaron Copland – Lincoln Portrait – Special Guest Narrator TBA\nAaron Copland – Billy the Kid Suite \nWen Qian performs the Barber Violin Concerto. A native of Beijing\, China\, Ms. Wen Qian came to the US in 1987 to pursue a musical career. As a soloist\, Ms. Qian was hailed by China Daily as “one of China’s most promising young violinists” a er her China concert tour in 1994. She was praised as “a rare thrill” and “enthralling” by the Strad magazine for her 2004 solo recital at the Carnegie Weill Recital Hall. As a chamber musician\, she has performed
in music festivals such as the Marlboro and Sarasota festivals\, and the Young Concert Artist Series presented
by the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. As an educator\, the demand for Ms. Qian’s teaching has included master classes and coachings at the New World Symphony in Miami\, New York Youth Symphony and conservatories throughout China. She is currently a faculty member at the Mannes College of Music. \nMs. Qian joined the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in 1997. She served as Acting Assistant Concertmaster during the 2001-2002 season. \nSteve Guttenberg\, grew up in North Massapequa and graduated from Plainedge High School. He comes to the Madison eatre to narrate the stirring work of Aaron Copland\, “A Lincon Portrait”. Although Steve Guttenberg is rmly established as the star not only of hit motion pic- tures but of hit motion picture franchises\, his roots are in the theater. As a result\, he has moved e ortlessly between comedy and drama. In two decades of stardom in both critical and box-o ce hits\, Guttenberg has been the above- the-title star of six lms that earned over $100\,000\,000 in the United States\, a feat accomplished by relatively few superstars. He has also starred in four lm franchises\, appearing in such sequeled smash hits as Cocoon (1985)\, \n3 Men and a Baby (1987)\, Police Academy (1984)\, and Short Circuit (1986)\, taking his lms’ box-o ce grosses into the billions. e comic timing and charm with which he illuminated those lms and the dramatic invention which he displayed in such other major successes as Diner (1982)\, e Bedroom Window (1987)\, e Boys from Bra- zil (1978)\, and a string of historic television lms all derive from his rm theater training.
