SUMMARY:A Laughin’ Rockin’ New Year’s Eve
DESCRIPTION:Laugh  and Rock  in the new year with the Madison Theatre New Year’s Eve Celebration.  Our evening starts with Champaign and hors d’oeuvres then straight into a hilarious group of long islands funniest comedians. We will then have you dancin’ and rockin’ in the New Year with the Chicklettes and the Happenings singing hits from the 60’s and 70’s.   This is a celebration you won’t want to miss. \n \n  \nThe Chiclettes – From Lesley Gore to Lady Gaga\, The Chiclettes will keep you on your feet with their high –energy performance showcasing the female artists that dominated the music scene for the last five decades. The Chiclettes demonstrate their diversity with a wide array of dance music\, performing favorites from the 60s\, 70s\, 80s\, 90s\, and today that are sure to get people out of their seats. Their appeal is universal; young and the young-at-heart appreciate them alike. Over the years\, various incarnations of The Chiclettes have shared the stage with such performers as The Drifters\, Johnny Maestro & the Brooklyn Bridge\, The Coasters\, Lou Christie\, Southside Johnny\, Little Anthony and the Imperials\, The Cadillacs\, The Del Vikings\, and the list goes on. They have also appeared on NBC TV\, CBS FM’s Doo Wop Shop with Don K. Reed\, and can be seen on the “Doo Wop 52” special produced by WQED TV and aired nationwide. Their harmony talents have been used to back up other artists such as Lou Christie\, Mel Carter\, Jimmy Clanton\, Ron Dante & more. In the past few years The Chiclettes and their band\, The Coda Band\, appeared in theatres\, concert halls\, casinos\, & clubs all over the tri-state area & beyond including venues in Atlantic City\, NJ\, Wildwood\, NJ\, Manhattan and towns on Long Island\, NY\, upstate NY\, Connecticut & Delaware. They also performed on the Time/Life© sponsored Malt Shop Memories Cruise. They continue the tradition of being an exciting\, unique addition to any performing arts calendar. Wherever they perform\, the combination of talent\, memories\, and a great time had by all always leaves a lasting impression! \nThe Happenings virtually exploded onto the national carts in May of 1966 with their first single release\, “See You In September”. The song quickly spiraled up the charts to become an international #1 record throughout the entire summer. Most recently\, Entertainment Magazine has listed “See You In September” in the top 100 summer songs of all time! The Happenings\, continuing to become a major force in the music industry\, soon released their next smash hit “Go Away Little Girl” and hugely successful album “Bye\, Bye\, So Long\, Farewell”. With Bob Miranda\, the lead singer of The Happenings and the voice that literally spearheaded the group into international stardom\, many great releases were to follow including the classic hits\, “I Got Rhythm”\, “My Mammy”\, and virtual treasure chest of hit albums! Today the group is a powerhouse of nostalgia and as well as their own hits they include the Beach Boys\, the 4 Seasons\, the Righteous Brothers and Neil Diamond.
