DESCRIPTION:Celebrating the upcoming 100th anniversary of the birth of Leonard Bernstein\, the South Shore Symphony performs Bernstein’s Second Symphony\, “The Age of Anxiety” and “Symphonic Dances from West Side Story.” The program includes Ira Gerswhin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” with pianist\, Dmitry Glivinskiy. This concert celebrates the 20th Anniversary of our Music Director and Conductor\, Scott Jackson Wiley with the South Shore Symphony. \nAt 23 years old\, Baron Fenwick has performed with the Charlotte Symphony\, the South Carolina Philharmonic\, the Hudson Valley Philharmonic\, the Flint Symphony\, the Western Piedmont Symphony\, the Chamber Orchestra of Southern Maryland\, and the Mannes Orchestra. He recently performed in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Hall\, and played at the Hungarian Consulate as a result of receiving a $5000 career grant from the Salon de Virtuosi. His awards include first prize in the 2016 Beijing International Music Festival and Academy solo piano competition\, first prize in the 2016 Mackenzie Competition at the International Keyboard Institute\, and first prize in the William C. Byrd Young Artist Competition in 2015. Having graduated in May 2016 with his Bachelor’s degree from Mannes College of Music\, he is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at Mannes as a student of Vladimir Feltsman and Pavlina Dokovska. \nOriginally from Boone\, North Carolina\, Baron now lives in New York City.
