Hello dear readers! Let’s take a journey back in time when things were psychedelic, t-shirts were tie-dyed, lava lamps were the range and flower power was rage. Yes, I’m talking about the 1960’s. While I wasn’t around during that time, I know that the American music explosion was battling the British rock invasion for Rock ’n Roll supremacy! So, of the greatest most influential rock bands ever came from the Sixties. No pre-recording of any kind playing in these concerts, just live music played by rock’s greatest musicians. This period gave us bands like the Beatles, Byrds, Beach Boys, The Kinks, Buffalo Springfield, The Who, Dylan, The Doors, The Yardbirds, The Turtles, Cream, Moody Blues, The Zombies and dozen more just like these. While I, personally, didn’t know anything about the most of these bands, I did know a lot of the songs and something about the Beatles.
In Fact, I absolutely adore the Beatles. I find their music is so cool. My favorite songs of theirs are “Revolution” and “Hard Days Night,” yet when I was very little my favorite was “The Yellow Submarine.” Just listening to their music makes me feel so inspired and at ease at the same time. Which truly goes to show how important that music was from the 1960’s, and how relevant it still can be in today’s world.
