An Evening Of Music With Kevin Morby
August 27, 2023 / 8:00 pm
Tommy Brull Foundation’s Shine A Light Music Series and SparkyMusic present “An Evening With Kevin Morby” on Sunday 8/27/23 doors 7pm at Madison Theater at Molloy University.
100% of the proceeds will be donated to two special causes.
50% of the funds raised will donated to help construct Mr. B’s Adaptive/Inclusive Playground in Rockville Centre NY. The Village of Rockville Centre plans to begin construction in the fall of 2023.
50% of the funds raised with be donated to Alex Levine’s (Alex Orange Drink & The So So Glos) Medical Fund. Alex has been diagnosed with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma and is starting the long road of treatment imminently. We decided instead of our usual route of paying-it-forward, we would like to pay-it-back and raise some funds to help out with the exorbitant medical cost of his treatment. The So So Glos were so kind to us and played our show for literally nothing back in 2017 with Deer Tick. Now it’s time for us to help him out. KARMA is a real thing.
Kevin Morby is a Kansas City based singer/songwriter. With his seven acclaimed solo albums and myriad records of various collaboration, Morby has become a true musical auteur. His singular vision, evocative lyrics, and aptitude for catchy, dense songwriting has placed him firmly among the ranks of modern icons. Each Morby record possesses its own unique persona and explores intriguing themes and fertile terrain through shifting, focused textures and dexterous, dedicated skill. This Is A Photograph, Morby’s latest album, finds him making an Americana paean, a visceral life and death, blood on the canvas outpouring. The creatively invigorated songwriter has managed to align his finest songs, best vocal performances, most incisive lyrics, and his most lush arrangements to date.
We are proud to have such an incredible artist play in honor of our late brother and friend Tommy Brull.
