Opening Concert: Gershwin to Ravel to Disney Classics

“The South Shore Symphony under the baton of Adam Glaser will be performing three special works for orchestra. In addition, it will team up with two special Broadway Singing talents in a fundraiser for the Orchestra and for Molloy’s Madison Theatre.

The program will include Maurice Ravel’s Bolero and Porgy and Bess: A Symphonic Picture is a 1942 orchestral medley arranged by George Gershwin’s good friend and sometimes assistant, Robert Russell Bennett.”

 

Alexa Green
Alexa Green is currently starring as Sagittarius/Addison in the pre-Broadway workshop of SIGNS OF LIFE in NYC. Previous NYC/Regional credits include: WICKED (Glinda u.s.), COMPANY (w/ Neil Patrick Harris and Patti LuPone), THE LAST FIVE YEARS (Cathy Hiatt), MANDELA (Mary/Erika), THE STING (Edith), FIVE POINTS (Bridget Diamond), THE MOON AND THE SEA (Moon/Deborah), JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR (Mary Magdalene), FIDDLER ON THE ROOF (Tzeitel), SHENANDOAH (Jenny Anderson). Session singer with 16-time Grammy Award-winning record producer and songwriter David Foster and background vocals for Carole King, Alex Newell, Aaron Tveit, and John Tartaglia. Featured soloist with symphonies nationwide, guest artist aboard Norwegian Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean and throughout Asia, and currently a soprano with the Tony Award-honored Broadway Inspirational Voices. Solo show, A Shining Hour debuted at Feinstein’s 54 Below and debut album, So Good produced by Broadway Records. So Good named Best New Solo Recording 2016 by BroadwayWorld and is available wherever music is sold and streamed. Peggy Sue Johnson
Peggy Sue is an actor, singer, and dancer based in New York City. She was born and raised in Southern California where she spent her childhood training in Irish Dance. Peggy moved to New York to train at CAP21 after winning multiple regional and national titles while competing with Temecula Performing Arts Company.
On May 21st 2018, Peggy Sue graduated Magna Cum Laude from the CAP21 BFA program in NYC! Some Highlights she has enjoyed include: Judy Bernly in Molloy College’s production of 9 to 5, performing in the opening number of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade (Choreo, NappyTabs – 2017), and performing as a Lead Vocalist and Vocal Captain for Celebrity Cruise Lines (2018 – 2022).
