The 1st Annual Raklasikobop Music Festival with Edy Brisseaux + Bazilik

Raklasikobop is the melange of Classical , Haitian Rasin and Jazz Bibop music.
The show will have artist that focus of authentic roots music.
In the process, some historical perspective will be provided.
This will be a concert that will stimulate all the sense and provide a mood of harmony and tranquility with some spice.
Edy Brisseaux: Singer and Trumpetist
Edy Brisseaux, the “Golden Trumpet of Haiti” is known as the “King of Raklasikobop” which is the avant-garde concept of mixing Classical, Haitian Rasin and Jazz Bebop music. He is a composer, author, educator and producer with more than 40 years of experience. He started his professional carreer at the age the age of seven years old. He studied at the Lycee Petion, in Port-au-Prince Haiti, then with the renowned Michel Desgrottes and in NY with the famous, Berry Harris, who played with John Coltrane. He has traveled around the world with bands like, Les Freres Dejean, Dixie Band, Les Superstars, Caribbean Sextet and Zekle. He has collaborated with artists, including Wyclef Jean, Alan Cave and many others. He has produced six albums and is about to release seven new albums. He is the leader of Bazilik, which is a versatile band that he created which focuses on introducing audiences to the diversity of different musical genres. He believes that music unites, heals and is a way of connecting to the devine.
Ryan Hamme: Drummer
Ryan Hamme has been perfoming for about 10 yrs. He is part of the NY musical scene and has played in jazz clubs like, Smoke, Birdland, Mezzow, to name a few. He has recorde with artist like Abraham Burton, Ed Cherry, David Dejesus and Alexis Cole due to his strong compentacy in multitude of musical styles. He currenlty resides in Boston. He is a adjunct professor of music at Hartwick College. He leads a percussion ensemble and has served as a guest lecturer on Aural Music Theory.
Ittetsu Nasuda: Keyboard
Ittetsu Nasuda was born in Tokyo. He began playing the piano at the age of 3 y/o. He was taught by his mother who is a professional pianist and teacher. He has been interested in Jazz improvisation. He studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston with Leo Blanco, Bernado Hernadez, Joanne Brackeen, Rebecca Cline and Vadim Neselovskyi. Since 2012, Ittetsu has joined many recording on A2C Productions in Massachusetts. He has composed many original songs, beats and soundtracks. In 2015, he moved to NYC and has been part of the NYC Latin and Jazz music scene, performing regularly at various live venues all over the city.
Bently Lewis: Guitar
Bently Lewis has more than 20 yrs of experience. He immerses himself to the diversity of different genres which gives him a versatile edge on the bandstand. From solo guitar to dynamic trios and larger bands, Bentley plays with remakable depth, showcasing his amazing artistic style. His mission is to connect with his authentic self and to share his enduring love of music to everyone around him. He is a long fixture in the music scence in the NYC and Long Island area.
Randall Watson: Trombone/Percussion
Randall Watson was born in Nicaragua. He started playing the trombone since a young age in middle school. He studied at the Conservatory. He is versitle and has played with different band and genres like, Kompa, Salsa, and Jazz. He composes, arranges and performs in the NYC area. With Bazilik, he is known as “Uncle Randall” for his leadership and warm personality.
Paul Monteau: Congas
Paul Monteau has been playing the congas for more than 20yrs. He is able to play the drums and guitar as well. He fell in love with the sound of the congas. He taught himself how to play. He started at the church and played with different groups like, Rossignol and Pied D’etoiles. He has recorded several gospal records. He has ventured with rap music and was part of the 1st rap group in Haiti, called Academie Rap Boys. He is versatile and believes that music connects the world and is a universal language.
Niles Spaulding: Bass
Niles Spaulding is a bassit form New Fairfield CT. He graduated from the Western Conneticut State University Jazz and Music Production Program. He plays with a varity of other musicians. He, recently, won the Bluegrass Band Competition at the Thomas Point Beach Bluegrass Festival in Maine. He has a background in Jazz, Rock and Bluegrass. He believes that music is a expression of our inner soul.
