Hello dear readers. I tend to have a lot of curiosity about my fellow human beings, especially those who have talents that I don’t. That is why I was excited at the opportunity to speak to some of the wonderful performers who will be appearing in the Madison Theatre Christmas show. One of the people I got to interview was Daniel Roberts. It was lovely to meet him and to find out more about him. Without further ado, let’s get into the interview.
What is your favorite thing about performing?
“I think the initial answer would be to say the thrill of being in front of a crowd. The ability to share your passion and tell stories through performing is probably my favorite part.”
What’s your favorite role or performance you’ve done?
“Don in A Chorus Line.“
What inspired you to start in the theater?
“My mom put me in singing and dancing classes when I was younger. When I got into high school, I strayed away from it. When I went to college, my love for it was rekindled by one of the directors I got to work under.”
What is your dream role?
“The King in The King and I. Marius in Les Miserables. Anyone in Spring Awakening. Too many more to name.”
What are you looking forward to the most about performing in the Christmas show?
“I love Christmas so much. The spirit of it is so contagious and to be able to spread holiday cheer through doing what I love the most is what I’m looking forward to.”
How is Long Island different from your hometown in Maryland?
“I’d say the pace of life. Maryland is still east coast so you still get the greenery and the beautiful scenery. The pace at which life moves is just quicker [in Long Island/New York.]”
Who is your favorite actor/actress? What is your favorite movie?
“My favorite actress is Meryl Streep. My favorite movies are The Gladiator and The Devil Wears Prada.”
What is your favorite Christmas song?
” ‘White Christmas’.”
And that’s all, dear readers. I hope you enjoyed reading this interview as much as I enjoyed giving it. Look forward to more exciting interviews with performers in the Christmas show coming up soon!
