Hello my dear, sweet readers. You may not know this, but I’m Irish (well, 50% Irish). And…I love celebrating my Irish culture anyway I can. While I have never been to Ireland, nor anywhere outside the United States, I long to go there someday. The culture truly inspires me. When I was very young, my family and I would go to this Irish festival every year. I loved to watch the Irish step dancers and being able to hear some of beautiful Irish music there. Since I was young, I loved to listen to the heartfelt and inspiring music the comes from Irish history.
The Five Irish Tenors are apart of this beautiful history. They will be performing on the 15th of March here at Madison Theatre. They will be performing the most famous beloved Irish songs, like “Danny Boy”, along with opera arias songs. Other songs will include W.B Yeats’s “Down by the Sally Gardens,” Verdi’s “O Mio Rimorso” from La Traviata, Cherubini Bixio’s “Mamma, The Rose of Tralee,” Cesar Frank’s “Paris Angelicus,” “She Moves Through the Fair,” and “Will You Go Lassie Go.” It’s like Ireland coming to Madison Theatre. Personally, I believe that this production is sure to make anyone—whether, Irish or not—smile and add a joyful sparkle in one’s eyes. But, you need to get your tickets fast. It’s selling out!
