We hope you had a wonderful holiday season! Here at the Madison Theatre, starting the new year right is very important. That’s why we’ve started 2023 with an amazing lineup of shows and events! If you have not yet been to an event at the Madison Theatre in 2023, do not hesitate – we have many exciting events coming up. Be sure to get your tickets now for a night out at the theatre! Lets first discuss some events happening next week.
On February 11, 2023, the South Shore Symphony is returning to the Madison Theatre for a 40th Anniversary concert! Join us in celebrating with conductor Scott Jackson Wiley for an unforgettable event. To name a few, the concert will feature Nights in the Garden of Spain (De Falla), La Boutique (Respighi), Firebird Suite (Stravinsky).
On February 15, 2023, we are thrilled to work once again with On The Road Book Events to welcome Mary Calvi on tour with If a Poem Could Live and Breathe: A Novel of Teddy Roosevelt’s First Love. This book event will be happening in the Larini Room, which is located on the second floor of Molloy University’s Public Square building. Mary Calvi is a 12-time New York Emmy Award winning journalist who hosts the WCBS-TV show Inside Edition every weekend. The book features Mary Calvi’s extensive research on the matter as she had access to unpublished (and believed to be destroyed) love letters between Theodore Roosevelt and Boston beauty Alice Lee that were exchanged in the years leading to his presidency. The book paints the perfect picture of their experiences and how obstacles, heartaches, and losses can actually push someone to achieve greatness. Mary Calvi’s previous and debut novel, Dear George, Dear Mary: A Novel of George Washington’s First Love, is now the basis for a documentary by the Smithsonian Channel. This event is truly not the one to miss. Each ticket holder will receive a signed copy of Mary Calvi’s book, If a Poem Could Live and Breathe: A Novel of Teddy Roosevelt’s First Love. Secure your seat today for this fast approaching event!
